Godhunter—what a dumb name.
Hunting implies an advantage. It speaks of tracking and skills and swift kills. That's not what I do. I'm more of a “sneak up on them when they're asleep” kinda gal. And don't give me any crap about that; didn't you catch the god part? I do what I have to do to survive. Yes, survive. I don't do this for pleasure. I'm not a crazy person. I kill gods because I don't want them to kill me. Okay, yeah, that still sounds a little crazy.
But then he showed up: eyes full of lightning, a jawline that could cut glass, and the body of a Norse god[more...]
Trigger Warning: Although there is NO rape in this book, there is a dream scene with an enemy that involves consensual sex which the MC considers to be rape after she awakes. The dream itself is not violent nor does it involve force, but some readers may be disturbed by the reaction of the MC after the fact.
The Godhunter Series is a slow-build Reverse Harem Paranormal Romance series with Gods, Shapeshifters, Witches, and mythical beasts that will keep you hunting for more.
Personal Review: Lets start out with one of the very first RHs I've ever read. At the time, I was newly hung up on the genre, and honestly wasn't aware it was an actual thing. Of course I saw it in anime, but that was simply a glimpse at what the genre actually held. I dipped a toe into Ménage à trois and found that a woman fawned on by two men was an excited read, but when I found Amy Sumida's series, well lets just say I got greedy.
"The Godhunter", starts off the currently 36 books series with a woman by the name of Vervain. Afraid of a very unwanted truth and for her life, she decides to go on the offensive, and hunt gods. Believing that all gods are evil, this little witch takes them out without thought, and earn her title among the very gods she slays. Unfortunately for her, the truth isn't all that it seems, and turns out not all gods are bad, or really gods at all. The romance is exceptional in this story. Vervain falls for the very thing she fears, but even that has a surprising turn, one I didn't expect at all, and thus ensues, the growth of a god filled harem, well at least that's how it starts out. Out of necessity Vervain finds her self with more men. Its something that I like very much in the series, the waiting on baited breath to see who our female lead has soul bound chemistry with and if they'll end up joining her harem. You'll like root as hard as I was, for her to grow her harem, finding love and passion in almost every one of her encounters. Like I said, Miss Sumida, made me extremely greedy, it's likely to be the same for you! Sumida's writing is detailed, and has a lot of imagery. A scene is etched out for the reader to understand. With each series, you grow to appreciate it more, especially when there is a wait for the next book. Each character in each book gets enough "screen time," so you, as the reader, will get to know and love them. I appreciate how the author brings real mythology into this, a pull that I can assure you is more enticing than it seems. Knowing what these gods are capable of, especially the ones you may already know about *Cough Cough* Thor, its kind of a thrill. This series continues to grow, and develop in ways you, as the reader, won't expect. There is more than one world and our female lead and her harem traverse them, to save not only mankind, but the people of other worlds. No spoiler guys. Dive into this series, where a witch becomes more than a witch, and grows her harem to the point where your still screaming, "More Men!"

I met him at the end of my sword.
Not the most romantic of introductions but it suited us. We're both warriors; he's a lord of the Wild Hunt of Fairy, and I'm an extinguisher—a psychic soldier trained from birth to protect our world from his kind. Attraction arced between us like lightning. I saw it in his eyes, watched them shift from frigid silver to molten metal. Despite all of that, I knew it could go nowhere. Fairies killed my mother and her death nearly destroyed my father. Then there's the fact that extinguishers don't date outside our society. A human would be bad enough, but a fairy? That's not just frowned upon, it's forbidden[more...]
The Twilight Court is a slow-build Reverse Harem, Urban, Paranormal, Fantasy Series full of Fairies, psychic warriors, witches, and shapeshifters!!
Personal Review: This series is actually the first I've read when I discovered the awesome author, Amy Sumida. This was a fantasy that took me by surprise, with it's kickass psychic warriors that police fairies, and fairies that police these kickass psychic worriers in turn. The plot alone, instantly hooked me and then preceded to suck me in.
The Twilight Court series opens with "Fairy-struck," where we're introduced to our female lead that has a bone to pick with fairies. Her and her father are grief stricken and fairies are the cause. On a war path, heading down to self destruction, our female lead gets a wake up call, in the form of an innocent fairy, who may not be so innocent. Led to prove the innocence of the very beings she hates, she ends up crossing swords with a hot, brooding, exiled fairy. The two meet on bad terms, where blood is the only thing that's thought about, well that and how gorgeous the other is. This ensues a whole bunch of events that lead our female lead into the world that fairies reside, and lets just say the world implodes around her.
The series goes onto be filled with a great fantasy romance, with a harem of men growing with each book, much like the "The Godhunter," series. Only, this protagonist isn't as lucky as the one in the "The Godhunter," since her harem isn't as large. Still, there is no lack of love and trust me you'll swoon just as much as you did if you've already gotten into "The Godhunter," series. The different groups, kingdoms, and factions in this series makes for a thrilling and action fill series. Oh and there's dragons!
Amy Sumida, take on fairies in this series is unique and intoxicating. Dive in now, if you want a hate to love romance, filled with magic, hot men, and DRAGONS!

There's magic in my music.
I'm a spellsinger; if I can sing it, I can manifest it. That's what got me sent to Tír na nÓg, Realm of the Shining Ones. You might know them better as Faeries. I know them as the strongest magic-users in all the Realms. Yes, some are even stronger than me. And I'm here to assassinate one of them; a king, no less[more...]
Personal Review: Have you ever read a book, and wished that they would just break out into song and tell everyone how they felt. No? Just me? I find that hard to believe. Well Amy Sumida heard my cries somehow and made this wonderful piece of literature.
"The Last Lullaby," is the first of this 15 book series filled with hot women who sing you to death, quite literally. The series opens, with a creature known by many as a siren, or siren adjacent...? This young immortal, is much more complex than that. As they say, with great skills come hot fairies, or is that not it? Hired to assassinate a fairy, she takes the job reluctantly. To her its a suicide mission, but an expensive one. When in front of her target, its a risk she's glad she took, and thus ensues her first dark and deadly ma....fairy.
The series is very fantastical, and to me, its the closest to "The Godhunter,"series, yet so different, that you'll end up barely recognize the similarities. There are fairies also written in a unique and very different light from her other series, and eventually there are even gods, also written with a different take. each of these novels are written with care, and this one is definitely no different. If your interested in a story with sexy fairy men, and singing women, who step to their own beat, then this is the read for you. Amy Sumida won't disappoint.
