A second chance doesn't guarantee a touchdown in this new contemporary romance from the author of Intercepted.

Single-mother Poppy Patterson moved across the country when she was sixteen and pregnant to find a new normal. After years of hard work, she's built a life she loves. It may include a job at a nightclub, weekend soccer games, and more stretch marks than she anticipated, but it's all hers, and nobody can take that away. Well, except for one person {more...}

Personal Review: Poppy is content with her independence and overall way of life. What contributes to her happiness is definitely not her job at a club, waitressing in too small clothes...

but the boy she's raised for the past nine years. He's her life and light. Although when it's dark and she lays in bed at night, she remembers a guy who shares the same smile as her son. Her love that broke her heart and stepped on it for good measure. Now it's been 10 long years, he's a big shot and her dreams have changed, lost in her 16 year old heart. But meeting again changes everything, and suddenly the truth can bring people together.

This was what I was looking for. The FL is a strong independent badass, who'll go to hell and back if it means securing a stable and happy life for her kid. When his father enters the chat, she handles it a little wobbly at first but then steps up on some boss shit. One of my favorite things about this story is that they didn't draw out the big reveal. The real just happened, and the story develop into one of romance and family. I loved reading the family dynamic and how everything changed for the parents/love birds. I didn't enjoy the ML at the beginning but he did grow on me. He was just so cocky, and a bit agro. But he really showed his love for his woman and child, making sure they are both confident and feeling loved. There's also a really good reason why he's a snappy asshole, which develops the story better, which I loved. This one is definitely worth the read, with a badass mama who doesn't take her ex's shit and handles her own like a queen, and a man who'll do anything to keep the family he taught he would never have.

As leader of one of the fiercest werewolf packs in the south, Finn Stavros is in full battle mode 24/7. He has no choice—he’s one of the few beings strong enough to fight the Akkadian demons, whose mysterious escape from hell threatens the entire world. With the battle turning bloodier by the second, Finn is ready for anything…until his vampire long lost love shows up on his doorstep in desperate need of his help [more..}

Personal Review: Finn and Lyra's story has ended, in harsh truths and broken hearts. Or so they thought, now almost 17 years later, Lyra needs Finn's help with a secret she can't let him find out, and Finn has made up his mind to never lose Lyra again.

A paranormal romance to enjoy for sure. When the protagonists meet again, it's instant longing and tension. Finn with his treatment of Lyra before, is sure she'll never want him again, and Lyra believes her secret will be the end of everything special between them. I applauded Lyra through the entire book with how she handled business when it came to her kid. She kicked ass and didn't bother with names. Even her conflicted heart was appealing. She wanted the man she couldn't have but also couldn't afford complicated distractions., while she was on mission to find the light of her life. Her conflict on what's more important, the present and the past was a good call for this story.

This was a very enjoyable read, with a solid amount of action, romantic tension. and also pretty heavy secrets. Check out this one, where the vampire moms kick demon ass and the werewolf dads can't help but give chase.

He’s going to claim his child and the woman who got away…from USA TODAY bestselling author Naima Simone.

Will they ever learn…

that giving in to desire is playing with fire?

After discovering he has a secret son, oil heir Ross Edmond isn’t letting Charlotte Jarrett walk away again. He proposes they move in together—to share their son…and a bed. But Charlotte has secrets, and [more...]

Personal Review: Charlotte is on the up and up. As a chef whose fame is growing, nothing more satisfies her, well nothing other than the smile on her son's face. She's decided to leave the past where it should be, long behind her, and so when she's in front of the millionaire playboy, who not only knocked her up, but left her heart broken, she's left with conflicting feelings, and devastating hope.

Meanwhile, Ross, said millionaire playboy is staying far from the L word, even though whenever he thinks it he thinks of her, the one that abandoned him, the one he resents, so seeing her again not only drives him crazy, but makes it harder to deny that love exists.

This was a read that brought me back to me teenage years, when I first discovered my love for romance novelss. It gave me little butterflies when the protagonists interacted. Of course there was the problem of the secret baby and all that, but Charlotte is an awesome mom who did what she had to, in order to secure the safety and stability of her child. Letting her ex in is the hard part of it all, letting him be the father she never knew he could be, was surprisingly easy. The reveal doesn't take long to happen which was nice, and this was another experience of a fun family dynamic albeit a bit short. By the end I did want more though. The ending was a tad abrupt but still a fun romantic tale, of a mom finding the balance of life and love with a rick ex and her kid. It's definitely worth the read, short and sweet, and madly spicy when the time's right. Make sure to check it out now!

Motherhood made her brave, but to protect her daughter, can she give the mafia boss a son?

Abigail

My daughter needs a hero, and I’ll do whatever it takes to keep us away from the man who used and abused me — even if it means throwing myself into the lion’s den.

Carrying a baby for money seems wrong. Doing it for a mob boss seems even worse, but what choice do I have? I need money. I need protection. I need a way to give my daughter the life she deserves, so if it means becoming a mother to the mafia, I’ll do it.

But how can I give up my own son? Or the man who looks at me as if I am a goddess when he feels the fluttering kicks beneath my rounding belly? The same man who protects my daughter better than her birth father ever could?

Romeo

I need an heir. A son of my own[more...]

Personal Review: This is a short and sweet read. Abagail, our protagonist, is a mother who has been abandoned by her unfaithful husband, and religious parents.

With divorce on her mind, our protagonist sets off to try to survive on her own with her toddler. Unfortunately the world is a harsh place, and seeing no other choice, she finds herself at a clinic, ready to be the host of someone else's child, and that someone else happens to be a suave, handsome, mafia boss. Its a story of a mother who has made up her mind to do anything she can to keep her baby fed, even if it means giving up a child she births, and won't be able to call her own. This read was much shorter than expected, but appreciated. Its one of those reads that you appreciate while waiting for something better. Its filled with romantic cheese, that gives your stomach foolish butterflies, and can easily become a favorite guilty pleasure. Tune into this one, where a mafia boss, yearns for an heir, and a mother who is willing to face challenges all on her own, to support and feed her child.

Personal Review: This was a phenomenal read, and will definitely pull at your heart strings. It opens with the POV of a fourteen-year-old boy, whose goal is to live up to his ancestors incredible, godlike technique.

The kid is honorable, and sweet, and his father's child, but what the story really shows you is how he is also his mother's son. Our leading lady, a woman who abandoned her first real love, and the freedom to wield a sword and fight, leads a life filled with misery. Immediately her husband's indifference can be felt through the pages. But this young mother, even after fourteen years, continues to survive and hold strong. Living in a small community where women are simple house wives, and men are the rulers, contributors, and the protectors, the protagonists believes that although she bore her four sons, she has no true claim to them, for she is just a mother, a woman. The son finds purpose, and the mother finds the motherly love she was supposed to have enjoyed at her children's birth, realizing that her children are just as much hers as they are her husband's.

Be mindful, that this story will snatch your soul. War will be had amongst its pages, and tragic losses will be mourned, the author of this story makes sure that you feel it too. That you mourn along with the story's characters, and miss them just as equally, even till the end of the book. It is a fantastic and moving read on motherhood, sacrifice, pain, love, happiness, and the art of never, ever giving up. Personal Review: Now I've never read the novel, but I've watched the movie, and I knew that I had to add this one to the list. Now this protagonist is a mother who suffers through motherhood, making sacrifices when needed in order to keep her children safe. Hana, this story's protagonist, has met a man, whose actually a werewolf.
