A reckless and irresistible soccer star. A forbidden affair that could ruin her career. The locker room has never been this steamy. Starting over was her only option. Forty-years old and still reeling from a public and painful divorce, Thalia Blackwood is looking for a fresh start, somewhere far away from her upside down life. When she's offered a new job as the sports therapist for a football (soccer) team, she jumps at the chance. This is just what she needs to leave the heartbreak and shame of Manchester behind[more...]
Personal Review: Thalia, reeling from her divorce at 40 and feeling slightly adrift, seizes the opportunity of a lifetime with both hands, uprooting her life and moving to Madrid. There, she hopes for new beginnings and receives a lot more than she ever thought possible.
Alejo, a star in his own right, wasn't always at the top. Once upon a time, he was a young boy hurt by the world and those he loved. Now older, family comes first, especially after tragedy strikes. He's focused on his passion, but it isn't just the game he becomes passionate about—it's the woman who takes his breath away.
This read gave me stomach flutters, pure butterflies. I cherished every moment of it. The chemistry between the two was to die for. The tension, especially regarding their age gap, added an extra layer of intrigue, making it all the more forbidden. This is an open-door romance with some seriously good spice. I mean, the male lead is definitely someone who can "talk you through it," if you catch my drift. He's passionate and romantic, and it's easy to see why the female lead was smitten. This forbidden, age-gap romance is one you absolutely have to dive into. It's hot, sweet, and, above all, that football player scores the goal of his life—her heart! The chemistry between the leads in this story was so intense that I had to put my phone down multiple times because it felt like I was intruding. This is defiantly worth the read!
I never wanted to save the world... or these damned werewolves.
Harlow is off-limits. As my coach’s wife, I know I should leave her alone. I definitely should not be finding opportunities to see her and texting her when I know she’s alone.
She’s a beautiful woman. I can’t be the only man who flirts with her.[more...]
Personal Review: Harlow finds herself in a bind. Stuck in a loveless marriage, each passing day feels like slow torture. Amidst this dreary existence, Scott is the one who truly sees her. He doesn't just view her as the smiling façade adorning his coach's arm, but he glimpses the beautiful yet sorrowful soul hidden behind the mask she wears.
Despite their efforts to push aside their growing emotions, the pull becomes too strong, and before they know it, they're plunging headlong into love.
Reading this book was quite the experience. It was undeniably enjoyable. Harlow, our FL, being the older woman, hesitates to take a chance on Scott, our ML, who is considerably younger. However, what keeps the narrative riveting is the myriad of challenges they encounter. Harlow finds herself ensnared in a marriage with Scott's coach, adding a layer of subtle angst and concern for readers. What's commendable is the absence of cheating between the main characters; their relationship blossoms from a foundation of honesty, with Harlow already in the process of divorcing her husband. Yet, even with this honesty, conflict abounds. The romance between them is palpable, and the love scenes? Let's just say they were delightfully scandalous, which is always a plus. Note: this can be read as a standalone. Enjoy!
A story of forbidden love with a side of revenge... When my husband of nearly twenty years left me for another woman, I thought my life was over. But I was wrong. Wrong for thinking I was weak, Wrong for assuming I couldn't go on, Wrong for believing I wouldn't love again. No matter what anyone else thinks, Wrong never felt so right.[more..]
Personal Review: Mia's husband has left her in the dust, remarried, and is living his happily ever after with the woman he was cheating with. Grayson is embarrassed to know that his mom is capable of such betrayal and destruction. But all that gets swept aside when Mia and Grayson find something within each other. The only problem is Grayson's best friend is Mia's only son...
and they'll have to figure out just how well they can keep a secret from the one they both love the most.
This read wasn't what I was expecting. I wanted more angst and conflict. I wanted more hesitation and romance, but I simply didn't get it. At least not like I wanted. It doesn't mean this book is bad. On the contrary, it was actually really fun and enjoyable. It made for a fast-paced romance between an older woman and a much younger man. While I would have preferred more conflict in the plot, I appreciated the romance and good chemistry between the leads, who let nothing hold them back from each other. Definitely give this a try if you're having a book dry spell. It's quick and easy, short and fast-paced.
It was just another day in the Emergency Department -- until she was wheeled in through the doors.
Amanda Parks, my childhood best friend's mom who I may or may not have secretly kissed before leaving for college.
I haven't seen her in over a decade, and in so many ways, she hasn't changed.
Same killer curves.
Same hypnotizing eyes.
Same reaction from my heart when I see her.
But something new?
There isn't a ring on her finger anymore...
And I'm much more of a man than I was at eighteen.[more...]
Personal Review: Amanda has done it—she kicked her abusive husband to the curb. However, he's making her work for her freedom. Frustrated and utterly lost, Amanda finds herself unexpectedly found by the boy she once knew, who has now grown into an incredible man.
Greg had a huge crush on his best friend's mom and acted on it when he saw that she needed some love right before he dashed away to college. Fast forward many years later, and he is staring at the woman who once haunted his dreams. Now she's free and flying high, and all he wants to do is add wind to her wings so she can fly even higher.
This is a well-paced slow burn with a charm that leaves you smiling. It's also a story of unrequited love that turns requited in some delightful ways. The main leads are adorable together, both fighting their feelings for very good reasons. Amanda struggles because this is a much younger man, and that younger man is her son's childhood best friend. Greg is held back by the respect and care he has for both mother and son.
It's a read filled with fluff and all kinds of happy moments. If you want to witness a strong woman, who is also a selfless mom, find love with a younger man, then this book is definitely for you.
At thirty-nine years old, I have my life together.
I’m a successful photographer, own my own home, and thanks to a teenage pregnancy, I’m already an empty nester.
The only thing missing is love. And who has time for that?
That’s my thought process the day my daughter, Gracie, calls to tell me she’s bringing her roommate home with her for spring break.
Dax Shelton is charismatic, funny, and ridiculously sexy. And for some reason, whenever I’m with him, he aims all that charm my way.
I try to keep my space and not take him seriously, but when he pins me against the kitchen counter and whispers all the dirty things he wants to do to me, I can’t ignore him any longer.[more...]
Personal Review: Abby is ashamed. She's 39 and having lustful thoughts about her daughter's college roommate. When he comes to visit with her daughter for the weekend, she's flustered. But Mr. Roommate, Dax, has a plan of his own because Abby isn't the only one with these thoughts—he has no shame about his desires.
That's literally the book. Well, the majority of it.
Immediately, I disliked the fact that she already had a crush. I'm more into the subtle and slow realization, at least in the case of this book. I hoped the relationship would start when she meets him at her house, and a crush would develop as he got to know the female lead. But what really pulled me in was that it wasn't just her who had a crush—her daughter did too. This plunged me into the rabbit hole of a good story. It's fast-paced, though at times it felt like a secondary story instead of the main one. I wanted their first meeting and pining to be in this book, but other than that, it was a hot read.
I loved that this was a mutual crush type of thing, with one character feeling very ashamed and the other instantly deciding that this is the person they want to be with forever. It made for a short, spicy, but sweet love story, where the younger man seduces the older woman he loves, demanding she let go and give him her heart. The romance was there, and so was the chemistry. I definitely think it would be an enjoyable read for all, and am I the only one who hummed that song?
Nothing says happy birthday like catching your husband in a compromising position with his boss.
His male boss.
Why, hello, midlife crisis. I'm starting over, but this time I'm doing it right. Or at least I'm doing what I want.
Taking the day off from work to hang out poolside? Yup. Do I leave the swimsuit in my house? Sure.
Does my very hot, twenty-something pool boy happen to catch me naked? Oh, yeah, he does. And he likes what he sees... a lot.
My best friend keeps telling me to have a fling and get back out there. But I'm not so sure she meant for me to do it with her son.[more...]
Personal Review: Erika is reeling. After catching her husband of twenty years with another man, she finds herself in a sort of midlife crisis. Yearning for the touch of a man, she is shocked to find the male gaze focusing on her belongs to none other than her best friend's son, Troy,
Troy, has always had the hots for his mom's best friend. When he lands a major opportunity to soothe his own yearnings for the older woman, he pounces. Now he's keeping secrets, all of which he finds worth it.
This was a very decent read. Although not my favorite, since I wished for more angst and romance, I did appreciate how it jumped right into the sexual relationship between the two main characters. It made it clear that this relationship was purely superficial and lustful. It makes the eventual doubts about having an actual relationship more evident. I just wished it had grown more romantically. It seemed like most of their relationship was based on sex. There were a few sweet moments that indicated a more serious relationship, which were not unappreciated.
The plot is what kept me around, well, that and the smut. I'm sure this would be an enjoyable read for some, definitely not a bad book at all.
He broke my heart when I was seventeen. I thought we were in love, that we'd get married and have kids, and the white picket fence. But then he went and slept with someone else...and got her pregnant.
Twenty-five years later, he waltzes back into my life like a hurricane. He claims to be knocking on the door of his estranged son's house. But this is my boyfriend's house. My much...younger...oh, fuck.[more...]
Personal Review: Rylee is in a better place but unfortunately single, due to a broken heart that never truly healed. She isn't ready for the instant connection when she meets the young and extremely hot Chance.
Chance is an old soul. Tired of dating girls his age who are looking for shallow and boring relationships, he's content with staying single—until he lays eyes on the sexy and older Rylee. Now he's hoping for a "chance" with her.
This was unexpectedly sweet—a great rom-com that's short and full of fluff & stuff. The chemistry and romance between the two main characters are just too damn cute. It has a good plot and conflict, entertaining and not dragging at all. I really enjoyed this one. It's spicy enough, and the confidence in both the physical appearance and age of the female lead is beautifully done. It has just enough smut to make you blush. Definitely a read to share.
Does it count as cheating if your husband frequently and publicly steps out on you, so you decide to have a little fun of your own?
Tyler Michaelson is everything I shouldn't want... but I do.
Nearly twenty years younger and devastatingly handsome, the man could have any woman who catches his eye, but instead, he keeps choosing me, despite the inconvenient little fact that I'm married.[more...]
Personal Reviews: Tyler has made his intentions clear when it comes to the married Sadie. He wants her, and he doesn't care that he's younger or that she's married. He claimed her from the moment he laid eyes on her, and now all he wants is for Sadie to give in and claim him.
Sadie is torn. Trying to work things out with her wealthy, cheating husband isn't going well, so she ignores him and spends all her time running her business. She enjoys it and doesn't need a man, whether it's her husband or anyone else who comes calling, because despite her husband's infidelity, she hasn't been unfaithful. Unfortunately, fate has different plans, and those plans come in the form of a smirking Tyler.
This is definitely a second book. It may be odd to say that, but I've never had a book that could have been a great standalone feel so much like a continuation of the first story. Illogical, sure, since it IS the second story to the first book, "Temptation". The plot isn't as interesting, but it does have a good amount of fluff, though barely enough angst. It was also a bit overly dramatic and unrealistic, which should have put me off, but honestly, I found it humorous. It's definitely a sit-and-read-at-the-beach kind of story. Short, sweet, and filled with big, dick men.
My marriage is falling apart, and Vander’s home life is tragic.
Yet, his broken parts speak to mine, and amid all the chaos, a true connection is formed.
The only peace I find is in those stolen moments when we share our darkest secrets and our deepest desires.
This thing between us has disaster written all over it.
But I’m powerless to resist the magnetic pull that draws us closer and closer.
Until lines are crossed, boundaries are broken, and everything I thought I knew about myself is undone.[more...]
Personal Review: A marriage on the edge of failure and children she never wants to hurt. Selfless Kendall is trying to fix it all and avoid any pain to her children, so why can't she keep her eyes off her son's best friend? Why does her soul cry for him?
Vander can't keep his eyes off his best friend's mom. He thought maybe his feelings were because his own mother is absent in his life and Kendall is an amazing mother, but these feelings are anything but familial.
This book was FULL of angst, romance, and sweet, but very hot spice. It has to be my favorite of this list. A selfless mother has put everyone's happiness before her own, but the male lead makes her want to be selfish. I loved that the age factor played a big role in the craziness of their relationship. The male lead is so very young, compared to the female lead, and their relationship is pretty taboo. But if you believe in soulmates, then its defiantly worth the read. There is a bit of a supernatural element that had me swooning, as well as a crime thriller aspect. This book was very enjoyable, thrilling and super romantic. Definitely check it out!
After my divorce, I decide to move across the country away from family and friends for a new start.
What I don't expect is him.
He's only supposed to be a one-night stand, but fate has other plans.
The next time I see him it's because I'm on a date with his dad.
I've always believed in wishing on elevens, but this time I get a little more than I bargained for by falling for a guy eleven years younger than me.
Reid is everything I shouldn't want and everything I need.
The question is, am I willing to open my heart up to him? Or am I doomed to let my past hold me back?[more...}
Personal Review: Via has packed up all her things, quit her job, ditched her bad friends and her cheating husband, and is making a new life in a small town with good people. She wasn't looking for love, but a night out grants her some of the best sex she's ever had, and it's with a much younger man.
Her life is altered with thoughts of him, even when she tries not to think about him, since, you know, you're supposed to forget about your one-night stands.
Reid is smitten. From the moment he meets Via's eyes, he knows there's something special about her. After sharing a night to remember, he is convinced and dejected that he'll never see her again. Of course, that's what he thinks, since she made it so clear that nothing can come of their night. Only, fate has a weird way of working. There she is, the woman he can't stop thinking about, on a date with his dad!
This was so good. I swooned a few times for sure. I loved that the love scenes were hot yet sweet and that the characters made an effort to get to know each other. Despite Via's worries about their ages and the fact that she went on a date with her new lover's dad, there isn't much conflict to be had in the story. It's literally a HEA (Happily Ever After) romance about two people falling in love despite the odds. No love triangle in sight. This is a well-paced read that you're sure to enjoy!
Tomaś Martinez has had a crush on his, Darcy MacFarland, best friend’s mother, for longer than he’s willing to admit.
Would it be wrong to make those feelings known the weekend of his best friend’s wedding? Or would that a big-time party foul? Tying himself up and offering up his body for her to defile wouldn’t be on his list of best man duties either, huh? What if he dropped to his knees and begged her to let him worship her in every way he fantasized about over the years? Would that be a wedding day faux pas?
And what if...
What if she said yes? [more...]
Personal Review: Tomas has loved Darcy MacFarland since he was 19 years old. He's now 32 and believed he was over his crush, until he sees her again and those feelings explode in ways he's a bit embarrassed of.
Darcy is lonely and depressed, but her son's wedding is a good distraction—until it isn’t. Suddenly, the boy she let stay with her during his college years is a grown ass man, and she's taken notice. Tomas and Darcy can't seem to stop their growing feelings. Fantasies want to be fulfilled and love wants to be explored. The only problem is Darcy's son, who is Tomas's best friend.
Can I just say wow? This book is heated. The two characters have a slow and steady chemistry. It's cute until it's not, because it gets SPICY. This novel tells the story of a leap of faith, taking risks, and sacrifices. The two characters are beautiful together, and the spicy scenes will leave you panting. This book also introduces the beginnings of new sexual experiences between the lovers.
This is a duet book, so you should definitely read the second book that completes their story. The new experiences the two share are thoroughly explored in the second book, making it hotter and more romantic. This is definitely worth a good read. Swoon-worthy in all aspects.
`Rock bottom isn’t the end,
It’s the beginning.
On his deathbed, Beau’s father reveals a life-changing secret that sends him into a tailspin of boozing and denial.
Enter Beck, a single mom new to town. When she shows up at Beau's automotive shop, he isn’t expecting to meet the woman who will lift him from depression and turn his life around.
And she doesn’t expect to catch the eye of a man ten years younger than her. What would a man his age want with a single mom?[more...]
Personal Review: Beau's sense of self is gone, and he's spiraling down a rabbit hole of darkness and despair. Drinking every day doesn't seem to be helping, but he does it anyway, lost in his grief—until helping an equally, if not more, sad woman changes his life.
Beck is looking for a new start for herself and her baby. She believes she shouldn't raise her child on her own—not because she's not capable, but because she wants her son to have the love of his father, something the father is unwilling to give. When a younger man sets out to make it his mission to ease her life and love her son, Beck is at a loss as to what to do. He's too young, but he makes her and her boy happy.
This was a sweet read, one of a mother's love and the temptation of a happily ever after. The book makes it clear that although happily ever afters are hoped for, they're not easy to accept because people are blinded by realities and ignore possibilities. I liked the main conflict of the mom struggling to accept a man she deems too young for her into her life—not for her sake but for her son's. I loved the male lead's pining and maturity. He cleans up his act quickly and makes it clear he's not perfect but wants to be better for the woman and child he grows to care for. The male lead gets a kind of redemption tale, where he finds himself and understands things about his past.
The smut is also next-level kinky. Fun! Prepare yourself to be a bit shocked but very turned on. Of course, not everything is for everyone, so note that there is some lactation kink in here. Overall, the story was great and it was definitely a page-turner that you're sure to enjoy!
He was her secret, her sin, the heart she couldn’t love.
Emery Robert’s life is everything she wanted. Married to the love of her life, with a good job, and plans for a family in the future. But when Emery’s husband dies tragically, she is the one who stops living.
Three years later, at the age of 30, she’s still struggling to move on. Friends are encouraging her to date again, while her in-laws want to keep her in the past, trapping Emery in the middle.
Deciding to move to a new town to start fresh with a new job and house, Emery’s 17-year-old niece, Addison, moves in with her for her final year of high school, where she instantly forms a crush on the popular and mysterious, Mason James.
At 19 years old, Mason has been through far more than most. A past full of tragedy and loss.[more....]
Personal Review: Emery's no longer feeling safe and secure in her life. Her security blanket is gone, taken away too soon. Grieving her lost love, she makes a move to keep her sanity, and along for the ride comes her niece. Her wild niece finds her place and instantly loses her heart—and really, her mind—to Mason. But Mason doesn't lose his heart to her; his eyes are too busy tracking Emery and seeing straight to her soul.
Mason doesn't fit in anymore. He's older and still in high school, where he feels out of place both in mind and age. He's over the parties and the girls; he just wants to make his grandparents proud. When he lays eyes on Emery, the beautiful aunt of the not-so-subtle Addison, he is instantly taken. His monotone life, where he saw no future for himself, brightens. But things like that bring hope, and Mason doesn't need that kind of heartbreak.
This one was angsty. I held my breath every time the main characters were in the same room together. The novel is well-paced and interesting. Emery lost her husband and feels that she is betraying him by looking at a guy still in high school. But there is something about him. That something happens to be a plot twist I honestly wasn't expecting. A great amount of mystery and intrigue surrounds the male lead. And the female lead complements him just right, making the two characters quite similar. Both have been through loss, and both are not looking for love but still slowly finding it with each other. Age isn't the only obstacle they have. There's the niece, of course, and the aunt's fears, but also Mason's fears, which I didn't expect to cause such a big turn of events. They aren't generic or boyish; he has a legitimate reason why he tries to stay away. But of course, in a very romantic fashion, the two fall.
The love scenes are spicy and hot as hell, with a beautiful helping of filthy dirty talk. Its a book that will definitely surprise you. You can practically feel the chemistry coming off the pages. Honestly this is one of my top favorites on the list. Somber but sweet, and incredibly hot.
A thirty-six year old mother of two finds out life isn't over after divorce when a sexy as hell twenty-four year old tattoo artist kisses her senseless under a shooting star.Ivy thought she had it all - married to her high school sweetheart, two great kids, and a beautiful house. But her world comes crashing down when she catches her husband with another woman. When her best friend gives her a gift certificate to a local tattoo parlor to cheer her up, Ivy gets a helluva lot more when inked-up Lukas Valentine - renowned tattoo artist, violin player extraordinaire, and extreme hopeless romantic, captures her heart[more...]
Personal Review: Old soul Lukas has never lived a normal life. Even his current one is a bit messed up. But he's always been content, and I suppose that's the problem. He craves love—a true hopeless romantic. When he begins to discover it in the older, more sophisticated woman, Ivy, he believes that his old soul was created just for her.
Ivy is torn apart. Her husband has left her for another woman, and she's sad at home with her two kids, poring over her past to figure out where in the world everything went wrong. She thought her life was a HEA (happily ever after) but was rudely awakened. Fed up with her boring self, the one she created to please her husband, she decides to try new things like getting a tattoo. Who would have thought that decision could lead to her getting her HEA after all?
When I tell you I swooned the whole way through this book, believe me, I am telling no lies. The romance in this is almost sickeningly sweet. I shipped the main characters so hard, you would have wondered if there was even a chance of them not being together. Lukas is a gentleman until he's not—wink, wink—and Ivy is shyness personified. I love the irony of her being 12 years older than Lukas but seemingly more innocent. It's super cute. The plot grows thicker with each page turn, and every moment reading this story is worth it. The smut was sweet, sensual, and gave me butterflies. There is just so much feeling hidden within this book between the characters, and it gives everything to the story. If you want a bad boy on the outside and a sweet gentleman type male lead on the inside, and an older, sophisticated woman on the outside but a complete shy teen on the inside, then this one is definitely for you!
The moment I saw her walk through the door of Forbidden Ink, I knew she was the one.
With her wide hips, thick thighs, and perfect breasts, she’s every man’s wet dream.
Add to that her dark, soulful eyes, pouty lips, and a body covered in gorgeous art, and I knew I needed to make her mine.
She’s a walking contradiction of sass and strength and determination, hidden by insecurity and self-doubt.
She’s everything I could ever want or need, but she doesn’t see what I see.[more...]
Personal Review: Quinn's life forever changed the day her husband died. And sadly, it was for the better. Living with a man who hated her and cheated on her is not the life she wanted. When she finds out she's pregnant, she hopes for a miracle. That miracle comes in the form of the Grim Reaper.
But the damage has been done, and her self-esteem is practically nonexistent, which makes it hard for the younger Irish hottie, Lachlan, to love her.
Lachlan sees the woman of his dreams walk through the tattoo shop's doors holding onto his future. He is willing to slay her dragons and become the man she needs, if only she would let him and forget that he's younger than her.
What really stands out in this story is Lachlan. He is the definition of a book boyfriend—sweet, funny, patient, romantic, and most importantly, an incredible beast in bed. He gives love to a woman who was verbally abused and becomes a father to her child even before he realizes it. Quinn is a nice character. Her insecurity makes you pity her but is also likely to frustrate you. Those who have been in her shoes likely understand her better, which makes her an even better character, depicting a survivor of an abusive marriage. You'll become proud of her by the end for overcoming her trials. It's a good read, not too dark, keeping a horrid topic lighter for any sensitive readers.
Age is just a number… until they call you a cougar. Kat Winston felt sure of where she was headed—living the single life and loving her fast-track career—until baby fever hit. Approaching forty, she can’t ignore it’s now or never for starting a family, even if it means doing it alone. One thing Kat knows she should ignore… the younger man the universe keeps putting in her path. Michael Cruz[more...]
Personal Review: Kat is experiencing a case of baby fever. Realizing that she's not getting any younger, she decides to have a child on her own. Enter Michael, a younger, hot, smooth-talking roofer whose goal is to live up to his company's prestige and show everyone he's not too young for success. The two meet, and sparks fly.
For Kat, she's already in a tough spot, while Michael wants to present himself as a complete grown-up to her but faces resistance. It's a conflict of miscommunication and assumption. Kat knows Michael is young, so she assumes he can't handle the life she wants. Meanwhile, Michael wants to be with Kat but doesn't really know what he's getting into. He just wants to love and take care of her, fix everything broken in the house, and make her life better.
I honestly can't believe how good of a man Michael is. I kept saying, "He's a good man, Savannah," every time Kat had doubts. He cooked for her, cleaned, and catered to her every need. Kat's doubts got kind of annoying, even though I understood why she was having them—they were in different places in their lives. It's scary trying to find a compromise, if your partner even wants to. Despite that it was an overall enjoyable and sweet read. Check it out.
